The Primitus ships responded by using quite accurate, advanced Point defenses to take down the oncoming volley as the damaged ship was shielded by the others from what did pass through. More drones still poured out from the ships, however, some of which stayed phased and intercepted some of the volley.

The Primitus signatures arrived, unfortunately for the allied fleet, bringing with them two higher class ships, one appearing to be a carrier of some sort, due to its configuration, while the other seemed to be a capital ship of some sort, bristling with advanced weaponry. They brought along with them six more cruiser classes. Obviously, they did not like intruders on their installations.

Xaldius finished the last of his steak. "I dont know if he saw me or not... but i need to hit the road..." He tucked the steak knife into his sleeve, took the credits out of his pocket, and walked up to the waitress. "Ma'am, i need to leave immediately." He grabbed her hand and put the credits in it, which would actually amount to a 50% tip. "Keep the change." He would stride quickly into the kitchen and out the back door. He would begin climbing a fire escape in the alley behind the restaurant.

Rain took out an energy knife, set it to stun, and literally threw it at Xaldius, taking great care to not hit the waitress, but with his superior accuracy, that was not difficult. Obvious by the enemy's demeanor, Xaldius would know that this guy was not a common soldier. He sprinted off after Xaldius, taking out an energy saber as the knife flew back to him, dissipating as it did so.

The knife would catch Xaldius' shoulder. He would stagger a bit, and Rain would hear him grunt. Xaldius turned and let the steak knife slip out from his sleeve and between his fingers. He threw the knife at Rain with deadly accuracy to a point on his neck that was unarmored, and continued running. Xaldius got behind the building, jumped onto the fire escape, climbed up and waited on the first level. He got up on the railing and drew his sword.

Rain caught the knife as he was running and threw it to the side, it stabbing into the ground. He ran after the kid, not losing track of him, and instead of following him, he went the other way around. He went over the building and came straight down, sword aimed directly at him and an energy pistol in his other hand firing away.

Xaldius hopped off the railing and ducked behind the grate, the shots just ricocheting off the rails. He would slash the part of the landing above him that was holding the railing. It fell down, briefly making a cage that the man would just smash into and recoil off of. It would follow him down and hit him if he did not have some way of controlling his fall and avoiding it before hitting the ground. Xaldius jumped back up onto the railing and stood , his face being shadowed by the sunlight and his hood. "It doesnt have to be this way..." He said somewhat emotionlessly.

Rain just teleported ontop of the falling railed which suddenly stopped falling, and hung, suspended by nothing. "Orders are orders, while I do commend you on your avoidance of inflicting death, I simply cannot allow you to just walk by." Rain said, his pistol turning into a rifle of some sort, and his saber turning into a long, slim, double-bladed sword. "It is also useless to ask you to surrender as well, so we both have no choice."

*In phase, the new enemy presses its attack against the Primitus, using some sort of high-powered beam weapons that overwhelm the Primitus ships' PD grids. They also launch drones of their, which fly forth and counter the destroyers' swarms.*

Ackbar: Son of a--Ackbar to Soban! The new company has arrived!

Soban: We see them. [censored] me, how are we going to hold out?! All ships form up behind Mama and Papa Beast and prepare to engage these guys! Soban to ground team, what's your status?!

*Dr. Sagald replies.* Dr. Sagald: Gelarn and Rohar are dead, Admiral, but we've escaped and our on our way to the Dreadnought. We've got some admirers behind us--requesting escort!

Ackbar: Gunships are on their way, Doctor! *Several avian gunships divert off from the fight with the drones to escort the corvette. The battered allied fleet grimly prepares for what may well be its last stand.*

*Suddenly, the space between the new hostiles and the allies distorts, both visually and on sensors. In a flash, a dozen enormous stark, monolithic, jagged-edged figures decloak in front of the Primitus vessels and open fire on the capital ship with a fiery rain of blazing beams that scorch into armor and shielding alike. Hundreds of flitting drones swarm from the newcomers and attack the Primitus drones, giving the allied fleet some much-needed relief.*

Soban: What--?!

Ackbar: Whoever these are, they clearly don't like the Primitus. Let's pray to our respective gods that they don't feel the same way about us! Press the attack!

*Newly heartened, the avian and Hiigaran vessels advance once more to attack the Primitus capital ship. The Dreadnought fires its Phased Cannon Array at it, and the Spirit of Aves delivers a merciless barrage from its main cannon. The rest of the fleet also pounds it with their conventional weapons.*

"So be it..." Xaldius ignited the energy blade and slashed the rifle in half, swung a second time, just skimming his chest, then turned and kicked Rain over the railing. This would all happen at a speed that Rain would actually have difficulty even reacting to. Hesprinted up the fire escape. He deactivated the sword and reached the rooftop and began sprinting twoards the opposite edge.

Rain dodged the attack on his rifle, pulling it away before it could be sliced, but Xaldius did succeed in kicking him off of the platform, due to the fact that he was not expecting an immediate attack like that. However, as Xaldius arrived at the top of the building, Rain was standing there and immediately opened fire, sprinting towards Xaldius at an unprecedented speed. The sword in his hand glowed ever more brightly as he approached, until he swung it, releasing a wave of energy ahead of him.

The Primitus that were out of phase countered with beams of their own, which not only matched the newly-arrived ship's weapons, but the point defenses turned towards the enemy drones, in support of their own. They did not relent, as the damaged ship focused entirely on drone production, while the others kept it shielded and fended off its attackers.

The newly arrived Primitus ships responded once more with a devastating volley of their own, the allied fleet having been firing on a compounded shield which covered the entire fleet. The carrier reacted to the enemy drones by launching hundreds, borderline thousands of drones of its own, which swarmed towards the allied fleet. Though they had gotten new support, this is still not going to be fun.

Just then, however, the other unknown fleet appeared, a massive ftl rupture of some sort giving way to a large dreadnought and a decent sized support fleet. They immediately hailed the allied fleet, speaking in a foreign language unknown to them, but they could at least tell that they did not sound happy. Thankfully, though, they didn't seem happy about the Primitus either, having immediately engaged them, and started sending hundreds of shuttles down toward the ruins below, to which one ship was promptly bombarding the crap out of, and several hundred strikecraft were launched at.

Xaldius drew the sword and slashed the wave in half and his arms were burnt by the energy. "DAMN IT! I JUST GOT USE BACK IN THESE THINGS!" He would begin sprinting faster. Oh, [censored], here it comes... He began sprinting at super human speeds, faster than what Rain would be able to do on foot. He jumped and cleared a gap between buildings across the street from eachother and kept running. He ran and lept another gap and stoped to draw the sword again. He raised the sword and swung directly in front of him, knowing that Rain would teleport in front of him in a moment.

The sword met Rain's as Xaldius predicted rightly, but Rain was still one step ahead. "The last one of my kind you fought is nothing compared to me, still, I commend you on your determination as well." He says, conjuring an energy barrage from behind Xaldius, while he attacked from the front, a combination of ranged attacks from his rifle, and melee attacks from his sword, attacking with ever increasing speed and strength. He swung at Xaldius's arm, trying to cripple him, or at least slow him down, as he brought his rifle to bear at his torso.

Ackbar: We're just making new friends every day...Ackbar to Soban. We have to throw everything we possibly can at that compound shield! A chain is only as strong as its weakest link--if we can break through even a section of it, our lives will be a lot easier! I recommend we attack that ship the others are so we can achieve maximum damage directed at it!

Soban: Good thinking, Admiral. All ships, do as the avian says! But stay the hell out of the line of fire--this is a heavy-weight fight that only a battlecruiser can survive for long!

*In the next few minutes, the allied fleet and the monolithic ships fire everything they have at just one section of the compound shield. Ion beams, energy bolts and beams, plasma blasts, torpedoes, missiles, and kinetic rounds all slam into the shield with monstrous force. The monoliths also open fire on the shield section with a devastating series of smaller beam weapons and energy bolts, violet in color. The allies' strikecraft and the newcomers' drones, along with their own PD weapons, work in tandem to take the Primitus drones down, one by one. Meanwhile, in phase, the Primitus's opponents keep firing their beams at the vessels, steadily overwhelming their PD weapons, and some of their drones make attack runs aimed at the Primitus's PD grids. Others continue to counter the Primitus drones. The phased attackers next launch a volley of tracking spheres of energy at the Primitus ships...but when the vessels' PD weapons target these, they violently explode, engulfing the Primitus warships in an inferno of antimatter.*

The unknown fleet hails the allied fleet again, repeating the same phrase again, only even more aggravated, and in a different language than before. A few stray, but obvious, warning shots were fired their way, missing them, but reinforcing the need to communicate with this foreign force before things escalate further.

The Primitus fleet within phase space suddenly disappear, and a few moments later, reappear within the confines of the other Primitus force, reinforcing that position. They were all in one spot now... sending thousands of drones and unleashing pure hell at the allied fleet and the unknown fleet alike, but clearly, the combined numbers were finally counting for something, as the shield started to weaken, even with the additional Primitus ships reinforcing it.

*Seconds after the final Primitus ships de-phase, two dozen cruiser-sized ships appear in formation with the towering vessels of the newcomers. These cruisers are different in shape from their larger counterparts, but carry similar heavy beam weapons and sport identical coloring. The cruisers join the fray immediately, launching more energy spheres at the Primitus fleet and then turning their heavy beam fire and drones upon the area of the compound shield under concentrated fire by the rest of the fleet of coincidental misfits.*

Ackbar: That's it--it's working! The shield is weakening!

*The allies increase their efforts further. However, matters begin to get more complicated as a result of the warning shots from one of the other parties.*

Soban: Anyone understand that transmission?

*Silence.*

Alright, open a channel back! Unknown ships, this is Admiral Ferin Soban Sha of the Hiigaran Daiamid. We mean you no harm--please do not shoot us! The greater enemy is right here, and has us fighting for our lives! *An explosion rocks the Dreadnought's bridge, as if for emphasis. The Progenitor ship has lost its shields.*

*The Spirit of Aves fares no better, with its shields reduced to shreds and its armor taking heavy damage. Ackbar sweeps his head around the bridge as avians rush to and fro, explosions jolt the ship, and sparks hiss out of compromised conduits. Something suddenly occurs to Ironbeak.* Ironbeak: General Ironbeak to Soban! I have an idea--these newcomers, whoever they are, are going to fire their beam weapons at the Primitus ships after they cool down. Exactly when that happens, we need to throw everything we have left at that shield--it's the only hope we have left of breaking it!

Soban: Sounds like a plan. All ships, hold fire, boost reactor output, and prepare to shoot everything you've got left in the next few seconds. We're not getting another chance at this, people! Charge up the Phased Cannon Array, load all conventional weapons, and get me reactors to 140%!

Ackbar: Reactors to 150%--get ready to fire all remaining torpedoes and then open up with the main cannon! Don't stop until that goddamn shield is gone.

*The battlefield goes strangely quiet, save for the explosions of the energy spheres and the dogfights between drones and strikecraft, until the newcomers' beam weapons open fire once more on the weakened shield section.

Soban and Ackbar: NOW!!

*All at once, the allied fleet explodes in a storm of weaponry that slams into the compound shield--ion beam blasts, kinetic gun rounds, energy bolts, plasma blazes, torpedoes, missiles, everything--and continues at a frenzied rate in conjunction with the heavy beams of the newcomers. A transmission is sent out to the other party to request they focus fire on this area as well, though whether they will understand it is something else entirely.*

As Rain would block the slash, Xaldius would follow up with a quick punch to the face before he could call up the barrage from behind. He then followed quickly with a kick to the groin and hit Rain on the back of his head with the hilt of his sword when he would inevetably double over.

Rain wasn't slow like the other archangel, this was obvious when he drew his head back to dodge Xaldius's blow and followed up by spinning to the left, slashing down at Xaldius's knees, as he, later, stood, crouched, sword to one side and magic-filled arm to the other. "I wonder, who are you underneath that hood?" He said, swirling his sword to where it pointed toward Xaldius, held with both hands.

Xaldius parried the sword and quickly went in for a stab to the chest. He didnt even respond to Rain's statment.

Rain slid to the right and leapt forward, sword poised to stab right into one of Xaldius's arm while he freed one hand to go for Xaldius's head, like a claw grabbing their prey, only with mystic energy swirling around it. This done in faster speeds than previous, but all non-lethal, the sword actually meant to stab through the cloth and hold him there in reality.

Xaldius would sidestep, punch Rain in the face, and then swing for Rain's legs.

Rain jumped up, going overhead of Xaldius, bringing his sword to slice through his head, but he miscalculated, just barely scratching the surface of it, and slicing through the cloth. He landed, having spun around to face his enemy, directly behind him and went to attack again, aiming for his arms again.

Xaldius' would sidestep, but the sword would catch his hood and his cheek. He now had a chance to counter. He punched Rain, standing on the outside of his stance, and followed up with a quick downward slash. The rest of the hood would fall off and Rain would see the kid with white hair, gray eyes, and a bleeding cheek. "You do realize that I was trying for non-lethal hits... but now that you've seen me... this is a fight to the death..."

Rain jumped backwards, springing right up from the kid's series of attacks. When he landed, he stared at the kid who was his enemy. This went on for several seconds, and with every moment, Rain seemed to grow colder and more serious, gripping his sword ever more tightly, and his mystic power brightening ever so slightly. He remained silent for this entire endeavor, no thought crossing his mind, no movement visibly seen as aggression.

"..." Rain straightened up as his sword glowed several times more brightly, its strength having been increased, as his armor became even lighter, no shields, no real protection, just agility and speed, all camouflaged by casual wear, surrounded by mystic energy flowing through his whole body. "Come and try." Rain said tauntingly, holding his blade to his side, sword pointed toward the ground.

Xaldius stood for a moment. "..." I'm no fool. "Yes you are, you let him see yo-" Then step in, dipshit. He stood there, just staring calmly at him. He didnt move. Make your move so i can counter, or start running so i can stab you in the back.

Rain stood just as patiently, his appearance unchanging, and his display of mystic power unrelenting, but not put to use. He was obviously waiting for Xaldius to make the first move. ... stop shaking so much... Stay focused! He thought, trying to fight through a mess of confusion and other emotions he didn't understand. ...what are you waiting for... Run dammit!

Xaldius stood there staring at Rain with an unblinking, emotionless stare. He had his sword up, ready to go at any moment. He's waiting for something... fan-[censored]-tastic.... He stood there still staring. "I think that's obvious, kid." Shut the [censored] up, i dont need this from you. "Could i make a suggestion?" Go [censored] yourself while I handle this? Sounds good.
