Chapter One

Ex Nihilo

"The worlds as we know it have begun to tear at each others throats. All of the concepts and ideas of peace, annihilated. A total war has begun, a new stage to the conflicts of the gods. Avalon will know their wrath, She will know their power, and She will hunger for more. Now War shall be created from nothing."

Many years have passed since the war's beginning, many have forgotten why or how this all started. Some say that it has always been there, that we have just assumed there was a beginning. It may be supposed that they are correct, for in our time, whenever something has a beginning, something has an end, and such an idea may be a vain, rumored hope. No, this seemingly eternal war rages on still for, through rock, through roads, through forests and desert, it tolls the weak and powerless. For there is no mercy in this war. There never has been...

And now Chaos marches forward onto the Elvish worlds, her hordes and swarms wrecking and pillaging along the way. Long has Anima's guardians held the line against these discordant forces, but here it will be shown forever if this effort were in vain. Now these guardians must protect themselves from the assured destruction of the Mad Goddess.

Meanwhile, Aeon has set his eyes onto Exitium and his undead hordes. Taking advantage of the reprieve created by Chaos's change in focus, he has begun his campaign towards the undead homeworld of shadow, the dark harbinger of death, Umbra. He will bring light to its barren, black fields, that is if the Lord of Death will leave such an affront unchallenged. Already, though, the Dead, Dread, and Cursed legions of the Dead God have begun to regroup from the war against Anima. He will not allow these 'angels' to taint his lands.

Many have wondered how long the war has raged on for, how long the war shall remain... with the start of these new conflicts, these transgressions, hopes of an end to the war are once again dashed. But there is something different of this new stage of the war. Something no one accounts to, something that will change the tide... for if war is created from nothing, than so to shall a story form. So too can hope, life, and liberty. So too can death, destruction, loss, and devastation. So too can famine, pestilence, revival, and glory. So too can heroes emerge, and villains declare themselves... a new wind is blowing... a new storm, brewing... The story has only just begun, and it too shall be born from nothing, as was all creation. Ex Nihilo, it all began.
