Concept for the project.
In this, our quest to maketh a project most splendid, we hath taken the door of animated movie as our choice, and selected several noble warriors to create this movie, but this movie idea is still unformed and new, and thus, we are now required to begin working on the basic concept of what type of movie we want to create with the power of animation programs and creativity. Discuss here what our movie should be about and what format and style it will be in.

Re: Concept for the project.
I prefer Sci-fi but if the majority is for medieval, so be it.

Re: Concept for the project.
Ya, but with sci-fi or folklore it would be harder, having to animate fire balls or bullets or whatever

Re: Concept for the project.
well, medieval includes fantasy, but I'm reasonably certain that Arik is up to the task.

Re: Concept for the project.
so, it's rather obvious we have a medieval setting (Setting refers to the time period and location, whereas theme actually has more to do with the central concept, topic, or subject, for future reference) but where do we go from here? Since medieval's been voted in, what are we attempting to see here? An adventure, a mystery, a... the list goes on and on. Post some ideas guys.
Re: Concept for the project.
A medieval mystery story is unheard of. The standard to go with is adventure, typically mystical.

Re: Concept for the project.
we have to think way beyond the confinds of "the box" on this one, so I've narrowed it down to the 3 least used genres for a medieval setting
1)mystery
2)drama
3)sci-fi
I like #3 because it could wind up something like dragon ball, unfortunately that means, it could end up as a dragon ball shadow rip off

Re: Concept for the project.
medieval... sci-fi? So, avalon, basically.
drama's actually been done in the medieval setting quite often, but only by people with little experience and recognition, such as sir francis bacon or shakespeare, so I'm not sure if the point is valid.
as for mystery, we can do it, but, I'll be honest, I do not wanna.

there's a fun angle... rurouni kenshin, 300, and spartacus have all proven that angle is both interesting and entertaining, storywise.
Re: Concept for the project.
about the pictish warriors fending off the roman army

Re: Concept for the project.
Yes, but they took them so seriously that they no longer exist. not a good premise for a film. something smaller might be better though, in particular because animating a war can be hard, and properly framing such take a good amount of time.
Re: Concept for the project.
they exist as the Highlanders, they couldn't exterminate the Picts remember? They had to bribe them to stop raiding Roman camps
