Unified Universe

I'm going to pose to you all a question, really. Would you like a unified universe/canon? It would take a lot of work on our part, mostly, but it'd be quite rewarding. We wouldn't be limited by the canon/fanon elements of whatever setting we use, but instead make up our own and create new or re-fluffed ideas.

This is just a poll to gauge interest in the idea. Any questions, feel free to ask.

I think we should keep canon things like Star Wars tech and Mass Effect/Star Trek, but unite them all into one galaxy. A sort of mega-space-opera, if you will. Keeping our other copyrights, too, of course. This won't really affect me because I made up all of my tech and culture anyway.

Also, we've tried making a compendium of FW several times before, and it didn't work. We'd need everyone's help to make this possible. I'd be glad to help co-develop languages for anyone who wants one. (It makes your faction a little more real)

I know it'd be a lot of work, but it'd be rewarding, wouldn't it? Also, if you vote, please tell us why you voted.

At the least, we should make some sort of organized list of the different galactic races and what they look like.

I say keep it as is because we all know this community does not have the commitment to make this kind of change hell i can hardly keep a SL going because of a few lazy bastards.

Personally, multiple unified galaxies would be easier to deal with. But that's my opinion.

The Altair galaxy has a history between the races and proper explanation for the evolution of its species. It is unique. Making a connection to the Hyperion galaxy would be easier. Unified galaxies.

There is, of course, the issue of same species across galaxies, but I'm certain we can think of appropriate explanations. Unique ones, even.

So, are we actually going to go anywhere with this idea? I really like it.

Hm, it would seem you people desire a single galaxy... however, that's a bit too late already, with how several of the running storylines are going. A single, massive galaxy, while highly unlikely in of itself, seems to make things... well, too damn small in scope. If you guys disagree, that's fine, there are other reasons, but that's my personal opinion on the matter.

I didn't say anything about consolidating everything into one galaxy. I said that I want to consolidate all the information into one document so there is an easier way to access any desired info about factions, history, or species.
